Health & Family Welfare Department Kullu, Himcahal Pradesh came into existence on 1st November 1966. Chief Medical Officer of District Kullu office is located in the Dhalpur in Regional Hospital Kullu.
Kullu District have five Block head quarters which include 1 Regional Hospital, 4 Civil hospitals, 3 Community centres, 23 Primary Health Centres and 101 Sub-centres have the population 4,37,434 as per Census 2011.The Regional Hospital Kullu provides the Health services to the people of the district Kullu and adjoining districts of Lahul & Spiti, Pangi(Chamba) and Mandi District.
Director Health Services of Himachal Pradesh is committed to provide preventive, promotive, curative and quality health services at an affordable price to the people of the Area. For this wide network of health Institutions consisting of hospitals, community health centers, primary health centers and sub-centers have been opened to cater to the health needs of rural and urban population through well trained medical and paramedical staff.
The Government of Himachal Pradesh has provided the advanced 10 Bedded Trauma Centre which is well equipped with the central oxygen supply to 300 bedded hospital. In the month of January 2017 the Government of HP has opened the Dialysis Unit with the 6 Bedded Capacities & Cancer Care Unit has also been started with effect from 24th March 2017. The advanced Eye Centre with the faco machine has been dedicated to the peoples of Kullu by the Government of Himachal Pradesh.
District Disability Rehabilitation which is run by the District Red Cross Society Kullu has also made functional in the premises of the Hospital which provides the artificial Limbs, Mental health and Drug de-addiction, Physiotherapy and Speech therapy.
